"It is worth coming to the Province of Cádiz to discover the personality of people in the South"
Dancer and choreographer Antonio El Pipa was born in Jerez but has
a travelling soul. When interviewed he was performing his "De
Tablao" show in Mexico as part of a tour that continued in Ecuador
and France. He finds a very simple reason for stopping in the Province
of Cádiz: the possibility of "discovering the personality
of people in the South". His favourite moment of the year is
early autumn, "when evenings are asking for a walk outdoors".
For a weekend he recommends the White Villages Route, "from Castellar
to Arcos". Antonio is specially keen with the Clock Museum in
Jerez and is not capable of choosing a favourite beach: he goes for
all the ones in Conil. He has some special tips in the calendar. His
cultural venue is the Festival de Jerez, where flamenco rules, and
for a festivity he chooses the Cádiz Carnival. Talking about
sports he picks Jerez once again and points at the Motorcycling World
Championships. His five senses have flamenco and sea reminiscences.
His favourite image is "a sunset in Caños de Meca";
his sound, "an 'alegrías' (flamenco variation) touch";
his flavour "seafood in El Puerto"; his fragrance, orange
blossom; and for touching, "the sand in La Caleta", the
cute Cádiz beach. His favourite monument is also in the Province's
capital: the Cathedral and for a natural spot he chooses the Grazalema
Mountain Range. Chano Lobato is the celebrity who best symbolises
his beloved Province; he loves getting lost in narrow streets and
for meeting someone he chooses Teatro Falla.
