Classics dated the foundation of Cádiz, by Phoenitians, in
1.100 b.c. The roman Theatre reflects the town's importance in a latter
period.
18:00h. fenced shore
The Walls used to encircle the Old Town. Nowadays there are remains
like the Puertas de Tierra or the Santa Catalina and San Sebastián
castles, both in the Caleta Beach.
23:00h. time for Carnival
You are just in time for joining the Carnival, a traditional and
satirical festivity. Dressed up-music bands sing about local topics.

10:00h. looking for "la pepa"
The Spanish 1812 Constitution was signed in the San Felipe Neri
altar, where you will encounter the Courts Museum. The monument
in Plaza de España commemorates the event.
12.00h. two cathedrals
The Cathedral combines baroque and neoclassic styles. Its Museum
exhibits ornaments, cult objects, paintings and sculptures. Its
predecessor was the Santa Cruz Church, "Old Cathedral".
15:00h. bread and fishes
The great cooking tradition and diversity relies mainly in its fish
and presents delicatessens like Pan de Cádiz.

Torre Tavira offers a magnificent view and the attractiveness of
its Camera Obscura.

The Provincial has Archaeology, Fine Arts and Ethnographic galleries.
In the Lithographic museum you will fine the most complete 19th century
collection.

A small part of its municipal district is inside the Bay of Cádiz
Natural Park. Take a walk through wild beaches like Cortadura or
urban like La Caleta, Santa María del Mar and La Victoria.
13:30h. into the sea
Practice water sports at the Centro Elcano, Puerto Marítimo
or its Yachting Clubs, or board the "Vaporcito del Puerto"
steam boat on route to El Puerto de Santa María.
