A walk through History, clocks,
wine and Jerez carriages
The itinerary of the Municipal Archaeological Museum
(Plaza del Mercado, s/n,: Tel.: 956 333 316) will drive you through
galleries dedicated to Geography and the Palaeolithic, Neolithic,
Copper Age, Protohistory, Roman Era, Visigoth Period, Islam, Medieval
and Numismatic. In the Jerez town centre, the Museo Taurino
(Pozo del Olivar, 6; Tel.: 956 319 000) presents objects and art works
related to bullfighting. La Atalaya Thematic Centre (Cervantes, 3; Tel.: 956
182 100) hosts the Palace of Time, a collection of
300 clocks made between the 17th and 19th centuries and covered by
supernatural events; and El Misterio de Jerez, a
state of the art trip through the latest techniques used in the wine
industry, festivity and local traditions.
In the Museo del Enganche (Recreo de las Cadenas.
Avda. Duque de Abrantes; Tel.: 956 318 008) each carriage incorporates
an interactive multimedia presenting its utilities, History and a
virtual reality display. The museum also holds exhibitions and a thematic
shop.
