Jale hotel chain organises a route taking in its historical buildings, including a hotel in a bullring and buildings dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries

Your route starts from Madrid and the first night is spent in Spain’s only hotel located in a bullring in the village of Almacén in Toledo. It then continues south to Cordoba, where you will spend the night at the foot of the Sierra Morena mountains, which are mentioned in El Quixote and famous for the bandits who lived there in the 19th century and fought against Napoleon's troops. The Al-Mihrab hotel, a beautiful 19th century listed building, is to be found there. Your route finishes at El Puerto de Santa Maria in the province of Cadiz, where you will stay at the Hotel Monasterio de San Miguel, an 18th-century building that oozes with history. It was refurbished in 1989 while respecting the original building that was a Capuchin Monastery dating back to 1727.

This is the 5-day and four-night route organised by the Jale-Monasteria chain, the leading Andalusian hotel chain, to enable the visitors to discover the group's historical hotel. The business group is already negotiating with foreign and Spanish tour operators for the route, which will be available in 2007, in their brochures.

This new route is part of the JALE Monasterio Group’s current policy to expand its hotel network and its business areas in and outside Andalusia. In 2005, the Jale-Monasterio Group hotel chain’s turnover stood at 11 million euros, 15 per cent up on the previous year, which accounts for 10 per cent of the total turnover of the Jale-Monasterio Andalusian business group.

The chain currently consists of six hotel: Hotel Monasterio San Miguel, Hotel Duques de Medinaceli and Hotel Dunas Puerto in El Puerto de Santa María (Cadiz); the Hotel Colón Costa Ballena in Rota; the Hotel Al-Mihrab in Cordoba and the Hotel Plaza de Toros de Almadén in Ciudad Real.

The Jale Group has steadily grown and progressively diversified its operations and is now one of the leading groups in its sector in Cadiz and Malaga, its main geographical territory. Far from resting on its laurels, the Jale Group is currently planning to expand to other Andalusian provinces and to other autonomous communities.

The Jale Group is a member of the Agrupación Estancias de España and the Historic Hotels of Europe (HHE). The CEO of the Jale Group, José Antonio López Esteras, is currently the vice-president of the HHE:
