Pro-Training Tours, the German tour operator, to promote sports tourism in the province of Cadiz
Pro-Training Tours, the German sports tour operator that sends over 1,200 clients to the province each year, plans to promote cycling and athletics in Cadiz province.
From next spring onwards, it aims to position the province as an ideal destination for athletics, a sport that has over 16 million followers in Germany.
The main feature will be Chiclana’s competition athletics stadium, which is expected to open in April 2007 with eight tracks and a natural grass area for field events.
The installations, approved by the International Athletics Federation, will be suitable for all athletics disciplines: javelin, weights, long jump and track events.
A few months later, in the summer, all the work on the Stadium will be completed. Its facilities will then include rooms, stands, locker rooms and a 165-m2 gymnasium.
With the new installations, Pro-Training Tours will diversify the tourists that it brings to the province, who are currently mainly cycling enthusiasts.
Specialist in cycling
The company specialises in cycling, with 21 organised routes through the province of Cadiz - studied down to the last detail -, which range from 43 kilometres along La Barrosa beach where the cyclists only have to climb 150 metres, to the toughest circuit: Grazalema-Jimena de la Frontera, covering a total of 166 kilometres and the cyclists climb 3,400 metres in total.
In October, it will publish over 5,000 brochures on cycling in the province of Cadiz, with all the routes, and Chiclana and Grazalema as the main departure points.
The publication will be backed by Cadiz Provincial Tourist Board, interested in supporting the initiative of this company that each year sends over a thousand tourists to the province's sports and tourist facilities. Whether pros or amateurs, they come here to enjoy football, tennis, triathlon, cycling and bodycoaching, a type of hiking using walking sticks that is the latest craze in Germany.
Pro-Training Tours has its main offices in Alsbach and sells its holiday packages in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Its clients include professional and amateur sportspeople, of all ages, although the profile varies from sport to sport. And the company sells them the full package: from the hotel to the specific routes or side trips to places of interest.
Pro-Training Tours also works with other tour operators, such as TUI or Neckermann.
Every year, Novo Sancti Petri witnesses an increasing number of clients that come to the province for the opportunity to enjoy their favourite sports in a far more clement climate that in the centre and north of Europe.
